Huge thanks to all the Old Girls who came back to school this week to play netball against the NHEHS Senior Squad.
On what was officially the UK’s hottest September day for 105 years, the match provided moments of inspiration and lots of perspiration. The final scoreline may not have been in the Old Girls’ favour this year but they were 8-1 down at the end of the first quarter, so 24-11 at the final whistle shows great improvement as the game progressed.
Jane Sigaloff (OGA Chair and Wing Attack) said “Bearing in mind that we are not used to playing as a team, that there was no training, let alone a warm-up, that half of us were more than twice their age, it was an excellent effort. And thoroughly enjoyable. Of course the team were all a little disappointed not to have managed a draw like last year – or indeed a victory – but that’s only because we are NHEHS girls and like winning.”
