Fiction Prize

Congratulations to Nikhita Claerhout who is a winner in the 2016 Historical Fiction Prize run by the UK’s Historical Association.

The Historical Association brings together people who share an interest in, and love for the past and aims to further the study and teaching and enjoyment of history. Its very popular Historical Fiction Writing competition is run annually and is open to students aged 9-15.  Entries are judged not only on the historical context, but also upon how enjoyable they are to read and how convincing and apt characters are to the historical context.

Nikhita’s prizewinning story  ‘Maisie’  is a moving tale about a child in 1960s America set against the struggle for Civil Rights.
