The sixth form at NHEHS is characterised by the easy relationship between staff and pupils and though your daughter will be encouraged to take responsibility for her own studies this will always be against a backdrop of readily available guidance and support.
In the sixth form the tutor team is led by the Head of Sixth and her deputy. Form Tutors stay with their groups throughout the two years and provide continuity of advice and support. Along with subject specialists they play a key role in the process of applying for university and preparing UCAS references.
The PSHCEE programme deals with everything from managing money to strategies for getting the most out of work experience and your daughter will also have access to excellent careers advice and planning.
Sixth form life provides a lot more freedom and independence but our sixthformers remain very much part of the school and are encouraged to take a positive role in leading it. They organise and lead the House system, run clubs and activities for younger girls and take on various posts of responsibility. They can also act as peer mentors, support younger girls via the Big Sister scheme and help run subject surgeries.
