Welcome to the Senior School

At Notting Hill and Ealing High School we form a happy, inclusive and extremely successful community where learning, in it widest sense, flourishes. The school has been at the forefront of girls’ education for over 130 years, and we have never wavered in doing the very best for our pupils in every way.

Academic success is important to every girl in the school. In 2009, 82% of our GCSE grades were at A* or A, and 95% of A level grades were A or B. But this is only part of the broad education we offer. We encourage enjoyment in learning, exploration of interests through extra-curricular opportunities, creativity, social awareness, personal confidence, and the development of the whole individual. We welcome girls from many different cultures, religions and backgrounds, and from a wide range of independent and maintained schools, as well as from our own Junior School.

We are specialists in girls’ education. Every day we see the advantages of single sex education, including confidence to take intellectual risks in the classroom, the development of close, supportive friendships, and the many leadership roles enjoyed by girls in the sixth form.

Notting Hill and Ealing High School is at an exciting point in its history. Our pupils benefit from excellent facilities in the areas of sport, music, art and drama. New integrated ICT facilities have transformed the ways in which teachers and pupils approach the curriculum. Our dedicated teaching staff is totally committed to the academic and pastoral development of our pupils.

If you are a prospective parent I encourage you to come and visit NHEHS. In the meantime, you might like to look at what some of our Year 7 have written about their first fews days at school. I hope what they have to say will give you a sense of this school’s warm and welcoming atmosphere and the many possibilities it can offer your daughters.
