Music Scholars Open Morning
The Notting Hill & Ealing High School Music Department is holding a special Music Scholars Open Morning for girls interested in applying for a music scholarship for entry at 11+ in September 2020. This will take place on Friday 8 November 2019 and places can be booked online using the booking form at the bottom of the page.
Applying for a music scholarship at this age can seem slightly daunting and the morning aims to make girls feel more comfortable when they come to NHEHS in January for their audition. The morning plays no part in the selection or audition process. It offers the girls the chance to meet the music staff and some of our music scholars to find out about the musical life of NHEHS. They will also be able to familiarise themselves with the department and see the rooms where auditions will take place.
The event is designed for students rather than parents and we suggest that you bring your daughter to NHEHS for registration at 10.30am and join us again later in the morning. The programme will be as follows
10.30am Arrival and Registration
10.45 Welcome by Miss Hester Goodsell (Director of Music)
Includes information on what to expect at audition
11.00am – 12.30pm Group musical activity run by NHEHS music staff and music scholars
Includes a break for refreshments and a chance to chat informally to some of our music scholars and visit the music department.
12.25pm Parents are invited to return to hear from Mr Matthew Shoults, Headmaster.
12.30pm A short concert given by current music scholars and which will include the opportunity to hear what the girls have worked on this morning
13.00pm Parents will then be able to meet staff informally and ask any individual questions before taking their daughters back to school
Space is limited to those who will be applying for a music scholarship in January 2020 for a place in September 2020. Your daughter should bring her main instrument with her on the day, if it is portable.
We do hope your daughter will be able to join us.
