"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Ensembles Concert

The Ensembles Concert is a chance for the smaller groups and younger ensembles to perform in an evening setting.

On Wednesday March 4th, there was a wide range of performances from well-established chamber groups like the violin quartet impressing with their performance of Telemann’s ‘Concerto in D major’ and the Year 7 Piano Trio playing ‘Slavonic Dance No. 2’ by Dvorak.

The Harmony Choir sang with great enthusiasm, as did the Lower School Chamber Choir singing ‘A complete history of Western Music (abridged)’.

We heard debut performances from a number of ensembles. The Year 12 music representatives set up an a cappella ensemble called ‘Tone Down for What’ in January and they gave a fantastic performance of ‘Royals’ by Lorde, arranged by the reps Olivia, India and Izzy.

The Wind Band also made their debut performing music arranged and conducted by Year 13 Bethan.

Session Orchestra also performed their first ‘concerto movement’ with Carmen and Aila in Year 8 playing the ‘Flower Duet’ by Delibes with orchestral accompaniment.
