A perfect summer evening brought the first NHEHS runway show, a new initiative, conceived and organised entirely by sixth formers.
The theme of ‘nature and its elements’ brought us pieces inspired by water, coral reefs, air, waves, flames, crystals and flowers. These were true couture items, one off creations made with love and passion. They showed real technical skill and design flair. They were fitted specially for their models whose make up complemented the pieces perfectly and who ‘walked’ with an aplomb and confidence that would have graced any Parisian catwalk.
Our judging panel of fashion insiders (all Notting Hill & Ealing alumnae), Antonia Kraskowski currently fashion editor at the Daily Express, Shailina Parti, buying and merchandising director at Jigsaw and Lucy Dartford, fashion PR and director of LDPR, gave expert feedback to all the designers before reaching a decision on their winners who received the prize of tickets to London Fashion Week.
All proceeds from the evening will go to two charities chosen by the organisers – The Mango Tree and SEED.
