Samar takes top prize in #700STEMChallenge!
On March 18th, Sydenham High School held the final of this year’s #700STEMChallenge writing competition. Pupils from schools across the country entered the competition and each wrote around 700 words on any topic within science, technology & engineering & maths. Entries were shortlisted down to twenty one finalists, grouped by age category (under 14, under 16 and under 18) and science.
Congratulations to NHEHS’ Samar who was selected as the Under 18 winner of the Science category for her piece on “LIGO: The ultimate streaming app for Black Holes” in which she explores and explains the detection of gravitational waves and how they can be heard, both by machinery and by the ear.
