At NHEHS an exciting co-curricular programme is part of every girl’s education and trips are a particular highlight. Our termly newsletter will keep you up to date, but here are some regular favourites.

Iceland

GCSE and A Level geographers experience the power of fire and ice in shaping this fantastic landscape.

Classics Trips

Trips to Rome, Pompeii or Sicily offer a chance to learn about Classical architecture, culture and daily life beyond the coursebooks.

CERN

For our physicists a visit to The Large Hadron Collider with tours led by CERN research scientists.

China

The Mandarin Department run a bi-annual cultural and sightseeing trip to Beijing and
Xian.

Montpellier

Language course and home stays with local families in this lively, Mediterranean town.

Spain

Seville and Andalucia are favourites for courses and cultural tours for A Level Spanish students.

Art History

In recent years our art history students have visited the galleries and collections of Florence, Rome, Paris, Barcelona Madrid and New York.

MFL Weekends

Camping, language and activity weekends in Normandy and Avila are popular Year 8 options.

Ski Trip

Probably the best school trip ever! Beginners and experienced skiiers welcome.

Battlefields

Year 9 visit some of the war sites and cemeteries of the Ypres Salient including Tyne Cot, Langemark and Essex Farm.

Field Work

Fieldwork skills are a key part of any geography course from Year 7 upwards. Locations include Dorset, Devon and the Thames Valley.

HOAC

Year 7 enjoy a fantastic day of team building and making friends as they build rafts and get very wet!

Berlin Trip

The History department takes their GCSE students to visit sites connected with World War II and The Cold War.
