On Saturday 11th November, NHEHS had its own version of ‘Super Saturday’ with both the U14 and U15 Teams at the Middlesex netball qualifying tournament, the intermediate cross country team at the English Schools Regional Final and the dance squad performing in the National Finals of Dance Challenge UK.
The Intermediate Cross Country put on a sterling performance in very muddy conditions while the U14 and U15 Netball teams both qualified for the Middlesex finals in March, joining the U16 who have already qualified.
The NHEHS dance squad were the only school dance team to have qualified for the Dance Challenge UK finals, with all other teams originating from dance clubs or dance schools. The team did the school proud and the girls loved the experience. They did not finish in the top four but it really was a great achievement to get to a national final in the squad’s first year of training. Well done to Miss Adams and the girls – Miss Adams’ sights are now firmly set on a top four place next year!
The following Tuesday the U14 hockey team was at the regional finals, after winning their county tournament back in October. The girls played well, drawing their first game 1-1 against Headington. They went on to play some very competitive hockey, keeping St Georges at bay for the first half of the next game but eventually losing to them and then to Eastborne. Well done to the girls and Miss Munro for getting to this stage which places the team in the top 16 of the whole of the South of England.
