The Social Fundraising Committee
The Social Fundraising Committee (SFRC) organises a range of events throughout the year for both the girls and parents including used uniform sales, a cheese and wine evening, quiz and curry evenings and of course, the annual Christmas Bazaar. We would love to hear your ideas for additional events you would like us to organise, and we welcome new parents to our committee. It is a great way to meet other parents and have fun! All parents receive information and dates for forthcoming events organised by the Parents’ Guild via Schoolcoms direct to their email addresses, so please make sure these the school offices have your most up to date contact details.
The funds raised by social events and other initiatives go towards buying legacy items for the girls to enhance their learning opportunities.
The funds raised by social events and other initiatives goes towards buying extra equipment for the school. Some of the items purchased for the school by the Parents’ Guild recently include:
New iPads for use in teaching the integrated curriculum throughout the school. Studies have shown that Maths, English and communication skills improve if children use iPads in school on a regular basis.
Trombones and trumpets for the Junior School music department
Benches and tables for playground
Robotics kit and KANO kit for use by Computing, IT and Design Technology Departments in building robots, computers and teaching coding.
An optic bench and new microscopes for the Science Department.
A silk screen printing kit for the Art Department has expanded the scope for the girls within the curriculum for arts and design.
Radio microphone headsets for the Drama Department, and finally Crazy-Catch nets and dance flooring for the main hall for the Sports Department.
You can easily support the Parents’ Guild through Easyfundraising. This is a website where you can shop online directly with over 3000 retailers and at the same time (and at no extra cost) generate a donation for the school. While the value of the donation will depend on the items purchased and individual retailers, it can be up to 15% of the value of the purchase. These donations are then also eligible for Gift Aid.
Your purchases with the retailer will still be through their secure payment pages, the price remains the same, details of your purchases remain confidential and you can even participate anonymously should you wish.
It an efficient, low impact way for us all to raise additional funds and many NHEHS parents are already supporting the Parents’ Guild by shopping this way.
