The 2020 Fund

Transforming Our Spaces with The 2020 Fund

We are launching The 2020 Fund to mark the beginning of a new decade and we hope that you will join us in our goal by giving a ‘Gift to the Girls’.

We are seeking to raise £100,000 in this year with a number of achievements in mind. We plan to raise these funds through a series of giving initiatives, events and with the support of our brilliant Parents’ Guild and parents, as well as our Alumnae Network and locally based national businesses.

Supercharge Science – We wish to create an improved science laboratory, which will allow for Design Technology and Physics lessons, but also for cross-disciplinary projects. The flexible space, with innovative furnishings, will provide a “creator space” where girls can work with teachers on cross-STEM initiatives, which draw in expertise from design, physics, engineering and coding. The transformation of this physics laboratory into a flexible and powerful space will provide a significant investment in our future scientists.

Growing Green Spaces – We wish to improve the central courtyard area in the Senior School and improve the overall outdoor environment in the school, including installing a living wall. This will improve both the sense of well-being for students, providing them with even more enjoyable spaces to relax in, and improve our carbon footprint as a school.

Striking Opportunities in Sport – Sport is flourishing at the school, including in cricket, where our students are gaining more and more success in both Junior and Senior Schools; just this term the Under 12 team regained their county title at Lords, while Hannah in Year 13 captains the GDST select team. Cricket nets would enable girls of all abilities to develop their hardball skills safely and effectively, throughout the year, and provide greater flexibility in the use of the sports hall.
