Y9 Pitzhanger Gallery Art Trip
By Mrs Fisher-Black, Head of Art
Year 9 students enjoyed a trip to the Pitzhanger manor and gallery. Surrounded by stunning Soane architecture and the beautiful gardens in full bloom, students were treated to a guided tour of the manor, embraced the solo exhibition Dappled Light, by artist Rana Begum RA.
Intrigued by the striking works, which explore the perception of light, colour and form and blur the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, design and painting. Students asked questions and discussed the interplay between Art and Architecture.
After a picnic lunch, students took part in several workshops including an Architectural drawing masterclass and a contemporary Art practice session, producing a collaborative piece of artwork exploring light, colour and their inter-relationships.
